We have a wealth of experience and expertise in acoustic architecture design consultancy. We are able to specify and provide design advice on partition constructions and detailing, specify glazing performances and provide advice on room acoustics.
Where needed, we have the capability to carry out detailed room acoustics analysis using 3D modelling software CATT Acoustic.
Assessment of noise transmission between adjacent areas can be calculated, typically this is via the following paths: through ductwork systems, ceiling or floor voids, separating structures i.e. walls, floors, ceilings, partitions, etc.
If separating structures have already been specified, we undertake an evaluation of their acoustic performance using construction modelling software to determine whether the required privacy criteria will be achieved. Alternatively if separating structures have not been selected, we then specify the acoustic performance requirements for these building elements.
Where required, we will also provide crosstalk noise control recommendations and specify acoustic performances for items such as cross talk attenuators, acoustic hoods, void barriers, etc.
An assessment of the proposed surface finishes for all applicable room can be carried out. The resultant reverberation time within each space is calculated, and compared to the relevant design criteria.
Where reverberation times do not meet the required design limits, recommended surface finishes will be made which improve the reverberation time so that it meets the design requirement.
Where detailed speech intelligibility or performance conditions are to be met, then a detailed 3D acoustic model can be produced, using CATT Acoustic software.
