We can carry out a range of acoustic commissioning testing services to prove compliance to a specification, such as BREEAM, at the end of the development.
Acoustic commissioning testing can be undertaken to determine the noise levels due to external noise break-in and/or the operation of building services plant, such as fans, air handling units, ceiling void equipment, chillers, etc. The resultant noise levels are then compared with the requirements of the specification to prove compliance.
Reverberation testing is carried out to determine the reverberation times within a space. This information is then used to confirm whether the measured reverberation time meets required limits. These limits are either supplied by the client, or taken from relevant guidance documents. Where the reverberation time is in excess of required or recommended limits, a full reverberation assessment can be carried out.
Sound insulation testing is required when new partitions are installed. The objective is to establish the acoustic rating of partition constructions installed between adjacent spaces. Following the test programme, a report will be produced presenting the measurement results, along with a comparison with the project specification and comments as to the quality of installation etc.
